Teaching Philosophy beyond walls
Kriya Life is a philosophy consultancy that takes learning beyond the university and the formal classroom, while keeping the rigour and structure of formal education.
About
I’m Dr. Meera Baindur, Chief Faculty at KriyaLife, where I bring philosophy and the humanities out of the university classroom and into everyday life. After more than 20 years of teaching, research and mentoring, I remain convinced that philosophy is not just something to study in book, Philosophy for me a way of making sense of ourselves, our relationships and the world we share.
My areas of expertise include Indian philosophy, environmental humanities and cultural anthropology. I have designed and taught courses for diverse audiences, including online programmes for Globethics.net, and have guided many Master’s and PhD students through their research journeys. I am also a widely published academic author and the author of Nature in Indian Philosophy and Cultural Traditions (Springer, 2015), as well as Sharvay: A Novel, published by Speaking Tiger in 2023 under the pen name Mansi.
At KriyaLife, my role is to design and lead engaging learning experiences that make big ideas accessible, relevant and enjoyable. I love bringing people together through conversation, stories, questions and a little humour. My classes are relaxed and interactive, but always intellectually stimulating; there is room to disagree, explore unfamiliar ideas and discover new ways of thinking.
Whether you are a student, a professional or simply someone curious about life, I hope to make philosophy feel less like a distant academic subject and more like an exciting journey of discovery, one we can undertake together.
